GrowUp Farms, a UK-based vertical farm, has launched Unbeleafable®, the first range of ready-to-eat salads grown in a vertical farm to be sold in a major UK supermarket. The range of salads will be available in selected Tesco stores from 26 July*.
The Unbeleafable range of salads is grown at GrowUp Farms’ vertical farm, located in East London. The farm is the first of its kind in the UK, and is the first to produce salads for sale in a major supermarket.
The salads are grown in a vertical farm, which is a type of indoor farming that uses vertical space to grow crops. This type of farming is becoming increasingly popular, as it uses less land and water than traditional farming methods.
The Unbeleafable range includes three salads: a Superfood Salad, a Rainbow Salad, and a Mediterranean Salad. All three salads are made with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, and are free from artificial preservatives and additives.

“When people taste our salad, they tell us they didn’t know lettuce could taste this good or last all week! That’s not a surprise when our research shows that 98% of shoppers said they throw away bagged salad. What a waste! We’re incredibly proud that Unbeleafable can help consumers reduce food waste.
