In an homage to the Regency-era fashion showcased in Netflix's smash hit "Bridgerton", formalwear marketplace Queenly has partnered with Netflix to create an immersive ballroom experience for fans of the show. This collaboration aims to encourage sustainable fashion habits by facilitating the purchase and resale of Regency-style gowns.

During the Regency era, it was customary for society ladies to wear empire waist gowns. This fashion trend is exemplified by "Bridgerton’s" lead, Daphne, whose elegant style earned her the "flawless" moniker from Queen Charlotte, a character in the series. Conversely, the Featherington daughters, known for their less refined fashion sense, received Queen Charlotte's disapproval. Daphne’s younger sisters, Eloise and Francesca, made their own fashion statement with chiffon ruffled collar dresses known as chemisettes.

Queenly has seized the opportunity to tap into the "Bridgerton" fandom by setting up a partnership with Netflix, creating the Fever Ball. The company sources Regency-style dresses from fans, most of which are typically worn only once, to promote circularity and provide future attendees of the "Bridgerton" Experience with access to these types of dresses.

To facilitate this, Queenly has created a specific category page for attendees to reference. Additionally, they've created The Queen’s Ball: A “Bridgerton” Experience page. All attendees receive a 15% discount code to purchase Regency dresses on Queenly, with the option to resell them on the platform after the event.

In a press release, Queenly describes the event as a "once-in-a-lifetime night out in a Regency-esque world." Attendees are promised a unique immersive experience featuring live music, dance lessons, and opportunities to interact with actors in period costumes. In the spirit of "Bridgerton", a love story will unfold throughout the evening.

In an interview, Trisha Bantigue, the co-founder and CEO of Queenly, stated that she was inspired by her younger Gen Z employees to embrace the "Bridgerton" phenomenon. She went on to express her disappointment in discovering that most fans sourced their Regency-style dresses from low-quality, fast-fashion sources. Bantigue saw an opportunity to provide fans with better quality, sustainable options, and thus, the partnership with Netflix was born.

Queenly has seen a remarkable surge in popularity since its inception, reporting 35-times customer growth and 3-times year-over-year growth in gross merchandise value since 2020. To date, the platform has acquired over 700,000 downloads across Apple’s App Store and Google Play and has partnered with over 40 brands, including Mac Duggal, Terani, Portia & Scarlett.

Queenly's mission goes beyond just offering an immersive "Bridgerton" experience. The company aims to democratize formal wear and promote sustainable fashion habits, a concept that is now increasingly important given the environmental impact of fast fashion. Bantigue also sees the platform as a means of promoting diversity and inclusion, an essential value in today's world.
