Australian beauty retailer Mecca has made its foray into the European market with the launch of its own-brand sunscreen products on a new UK website. The company’s multipurpose SPF cream, which is manufactured in Australia, is now available online for £35 (A$66).

According to WWD, Mecca is debuting in the market with its To Save Face sunscreen since “SPF is becoming a category with quite a lot of momentum behind it” and is also one of the brand’s most successful products.
Mecca was founded in 1997 by Jo Horgan and has since grown to become one of the leading beauty retailers in Australia and New Zealand. The company operates more than 100 stores across the two countries and has a small retail presence on China’s TMall.
The brand’s UK website will offer a range of curated makeup, skincare, fragrance, hair & body care products from global luxe brands. The launch of the UK website marks the first time that Mecca has ventured into the European market.
