AK Retail Holdings, the new owner of M&Co, has announced plans to relaunch the fashion retailer's website next month. The new platform will initially feature a range of womenswear items, with other products to be added “in the near future”, according to a report by Drapers.

Andrew Killingsworth, CEO of AK Retail Holdings, which also owns Yours Clothing and Long Tall Sally, said: “We have big plans for the brand, with an immediate focus on M&Co’s digital presence, with our brand-new site set to launch at the end of June 2023, and an app coming soon. We want to ensure that M&Co continues to be a beloved and trusted brand for generations to come.”

The company acquired M&Co and its intellectual property earlier this year after the fashion retailer fell into administration in December 2020 due to rising costs. Teneo Financial Advisory was appointed to advise the company.

However, a report filed at Companies House last week revealed that unsecured creditors are owed a total of £40.6 million, which includes money owed to suppliers, resulting in them being paid less than a penny in the pound.

The news of M&Co's relaunch has been welcomed by many, with the hope that the fashion retailer will be able to make a successful comeback. It remains to be seen how the new website and app will be received by customers.
