Denise Karkos has been named the Chief Ecommerce Officer of Dick's Sporting Goods, the company announced on Tuesday. Karkos will be responsible for leading the company's ecommerce strategy and operations, as well as overseeing the development of new digital initiatives.
Denise Karkos has been named the Chief Ecommerce Officer of Dick's Sporting Goods, the company announced on Tuesday. Karkos will be responsible for leading the company's ecommerce strategy and operations, as well as overseeing the development of new digital initiatives.
Karkos brings more than 20 years of experience in the retail and ecommerce industries to her new role. She most recently served as the Chief Digital Officer of The Home Depot, where she was responsible for leading the company's digital transformation. Prior to that, she held various leadership roles at Walmart, including Senior Vice President of Digital Operations and Senior Vice President of Digital Product.

Karkos' appointment comes as Dick's Sporting Goods continues to invest in its digital capabilities. The company recently launched a new mobile app, which allows customers to shop, track orders, and access exclusive offers. The company also recently announced plans to open a new ecommerce fulfillment center in Pennsylvania, which will help the company better serve its online customers.
Karkos' appointment is the latest in a series of executive changes at Dick's Sporting Goods. In April, the company named former Walmart executive Joe Schmidt as its new Chief Operating Officer.
Karkos' appointment is effective immediately.
