Hendle started Ballsy in 2017 with a few friends and a shoestring budget. After growing the business to an eight-figure revenue, he received occasional acquisition offers from investors and aggregators. In 2021, he received an offer worth entertaining and signed a letter of intent.

The brand’s main products were Ballwash, Nut Rub, and Sack Spray. Initially, Hendle expected 90% of customers to be male, but 70% were female. The best-performing ads were the Ballwash bottle on a white background.

Hendle used quality ingredients sourced in the U.S. and created a scratch-off ticket promotion to help with customer retention. He also improved email marketing and tried to segment by gender, but never really figured it out.

Now, Hendle is launching a laundry-based business called Slay. The product is a laundry detergent sheet called Holy Sheet. He is taking a more grassroots community approach and has launched a Facebook group called Laundry Slayer.

Hendle said, “This is more about doing something fun and creating a worthwhile brand.” People can connect with him on SlayLaundry.com, the Laundry Slayers Facebook group, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

Hendle’s journey from Google to Ballsy and now Slay is an inspiring story of entrepreneurship. He is an example of how taking a risk and following your passion can lead to success.
