Beardbrand, a grooming products company, is seeing success after a difficult period earlier this year. After furloughing their team for a month in July, the company is now back to full-time. Their current strategy is focusing on Facebook as an acquisition channel, and they have seen their cost per acquisition fall in line with their expectations for profitable growth.

The company is also exploring new channels, such as TikTok Shop, which has been a significant player in the successes of BK Beauty. However, they have been experiencing difficulties with the software.


Beardbrand launched on Amazon in January of this year, and have seen their revenue grow steadily over the past few months. They have had some growing pains, such as shipping the wrong products and review issues, but as of a couple of days ago, they are approaching a seven-figure annual run rate on Amazon, which is halfway to their goal.


In order to stay lean, the company is ordering smaller inventory amounts than they would typically feel comfortable with and being okay with selling out to ensure that all their cash is not tied up in inventory that might not move.


Beardbrand is also incentivizing customers this holiday season with a daily giveaway. Customers enter by placing an order, and depending on the order number, one out of 10 buyers will win a $25 gift card. On the 10th of the month, they raise that to a $250 gift card, where one out of 100 will win.


Beardbrand is now at a breakeven profit-wise, and founder Eric Bandholz is looking at the company from a startup perspective. He is focusing on the wins, such as a higher average order value, and is encouraging other businesses to do the same.
